30-Minute Coaching Call

Allison Ember is a mom, citizen of the world, and coach whose clients find her when they're ready to stop pushing and start building a life that actually feels good. She has a natural gift for seeing what others can't yet see in themselves and translating it into something real and livable. With 20 years of experience spanning Google, Pinterest, and the startup world, she knows firsthand what it costs to keep moving while running on empty.

She has walked the path herself — navigating overtraining, negative food relationships / body image, and the exhausting cycle of perfectionism, self-criticism, and unrealistic expectations. She understands stress-eating, all-or-nothing thinking, and the quiet avoidance of postponing what feels too hard to face. This isn't just professional knowledge; it's lived experience, and it's what allows her to meet clients exactly where they are.

Today, Allison brings together her lived experience in nutrition, nervous system health, and human behavior with an unshakeable belief that how you nourish your body is the foundation for everything — how you think, feel, lead, and show up. She coaches from the inside out, because lasting change isn't just mindset work; it's also what's on your plate, how you sleep, and how safe your body feels day to day.

Originally from Chicago and educated at the University of Michigan, University of Illinois, and Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management, Allison spent a decade in San Francisco tech world before leveraging her experience in Europe, leading to the desire for a slower, richer life. She now lives in Amsterdam with her husband, young daughter, and dog — and is in the middle of her own transformative journey, one that stretches well beyond a professional title or career. That journey is exactly what brought her here.

How The Green Door Life Has Changed My Life

As a new mom in my 40s, I knew I needed something different this time. I wasn’t looking for another rigid program — I wanted a personalized, holistic approach that could flex with the reality of my life, with a real community behind it. My goal wasn’t a quick fix; it was lasting change, sustainable energy, and genuinely feeling and looking my best.

What I didn’t expect was how much I needed to unlearn first.

I’ve always been healthy and active, but I’d also accumulated every diet and protocol imaginable along the way — and with it, a well-practiced habit of being relentlessly hard on myself. Good foods, bad foods, clear lines between them. More discipline, more cardio, more willpower. That was the operating system I ran on.

So when I first found GDL, I watched from the sidelines for a while before stepping in. I half-expected a shinier version of “eat this, not that” with a heavier lifting program attached.

I was completely wrong.

What I found instead was curiosity. Real curiosity — not judgment dressed up as coaching. There was genuine acceptance of where I was, no shame attached to my history, and an underlying belief that I actually knew my own body best. That last part stopped me in my tracks. Nobody had ever handed that back to me before.

What shifted everything was the science. I started to understand that my body wasn’t broken or resistant — it was responding intelligently to exactly what I was (and wasn’t) giving it. It was doing precisely what it was designed to do. That reframe changed how I approached everything.

That’s the experience I want to create for the people I work with. A safe place to land. A space built on curiosity over judgment, where we explore together — and where feeling your best is the actual goal.
