Our ChatGPT Is Not Your ChatGPT

Uncategorized Oct 21, 2026

My mom is in town right now, which means two things:

1) More laughter and girl time, especially when we’re cooking and doing the most mundane chores (what could be better??!)

2) Someone watching me work in real time

The other day we were sitting at my kitchen table, laptops open, having a very real conversation about her health trajectory over the next few decades.

Spoiler alert: I am actively campaigning for her and my dad to move to Texas, like... down the street. I want my mom to be the next Train With Joan story:

If there is one Instagram account worth following, it is Joan. With the steady support of her daughter, who is her nutrition and fitness coach, Joan radically transformed her health, body composition, and lifespan in her 70s.

This did not happen in a few weeks.
It did not happen in a few months.
It has been years.
YEARS of consistency with the basics that matter:

Progressive strength training and lots of walking.
Adequate protein.
Structured meals (not skipping and binge eating).
Sleep.
Putting alcohol on the back burner.
Showing up again and again.

That is what I have been lovingly hammering home to my mom: if we want the yo-yo pattern to end, we have to become the person who doesn't yo-yo... indefinitely.

Not for 12 weeks. For life.
And that's why I'm recruiting my parents to live close by to me.

Obviously, the increased laughter, family hangouts, and social time will expand longevity. That matters more than we realize. But the foundation of healthy habits is paramount for a long, vibrant life, and I am determined to lovingly step in now.

So, we started playing around with setting her up with calorie and macronutrient ranges for her time here, with the goal of supporting muscle tone and slow, sustainable fat loss.

And that is exactly where our ChatGPT experiment took a turn.

We typed the exact same prompt into the app.
Her robot told her to eat around 2,000 calories to support fat loss.
I just about fell out of my chair!

For her height, age, activity level, and current body composition, that would not create a deficit to solicit a reduction in body weight. Not even close.

And then came the fear mongering about muscle loss and metabolic damage, which I get. It's going to be more conservative with blanket questions like this.

Meanwhile, the ChatGPT we use inside The Green Door Life gave a completely different answer... one that would actually work to support my Mom's goals!

That was the moment it hit me:
Our ChatGPT is not your ChatGPT.

Here's why:

Why our ChatGPT is different:

The one we use has been trained through countless exchanges rooted in:

  • Our unique methodology, especially supportive of women's hormones and physiology

  • Our calculations for metabolism, basal metabolic rate and macronutrient ranges

  • Our science-backed, soul infused education-forward delivery that blends both science and reconnecting with your body's biofeedback

  • Our ethical fat loss strategy for those with that goal, which focuses on muscle preservation and slow, sustainable fat loss (not just weight loss)

  • Our recovery days, food quality focus, micronutrient optimization, protein standards, nuanced understanding of female hormones, stress, sleep, biofeedback and so much more.

It understands our brains.
A general AI prompt with your general ChatGPT does not.

And this is not a knock on technology.
I love technology, and we use it frequently. But AI is still a tool.
And how you shape that tool impacts the answers you get.

Just this week, I spoke with a new client who had been using a food logging app that estimates calories based on a photo of your meal.

The AI app estimated that she was eating 1,300 calories per day...

And at that rate, she should have lost weight but that's where the frustration happened because she had not lost fat in over a month.

And my first thought was simple:
How is this app estimating oil?

If you take a picture of steamed broccoli versus broccoli roasted in olive oil, the image looks almost identical.

One might be 50 calories.
The other could quietly carry an extra 200!

Fat is 9 calories per gram. It adds up quickly, and it is often invisible.
AI cannot see the drizzle in the pan or oil saturated veggies.

And even if it could, information alone does not create transformation.

The robots haven't replaced us yet.

If ChatGPT could have solved body composition, hormone chaos, binge cycles, self sabotage, and emotional eating, it would have already.

That's why we're seeing this every single week in our community:

Many women are already eating well: whole foods, protein forward, organic sourcing. No one is coming to us slamming processed Cheetos or sugary Cokes.

These are well-informed women who have downloaded the apps and free PDFs and master classes.

Women who have bookmarked countless IG posts to revisit but never do.
Women who have tried the plans.
Women who are disciplined, intelligent, capable.

And still stuck.
Because this is not just about calories.

It is about long-term habit change and identity work.
It is about understanding why you push past fullness.

Why you abandon consistency after three “imperfect” days.

Why stress sends you into the pantry.
Why boundaries feel harder than macros.
Why people pleasing shows up on your plate.
Why your body does not feel safe enough to let go.

This is where AI stops.
And coaching begins.
