Successful people rely on this (not motivation)

Uncategorized Oct 21, 2026

Is it genetics, hormones, or something else entirely?

I had one of the most powerful coaching calls yesterday with a client (and soul sister) who is down over 20 pounds in ten weeks, and honestly, the weight loss almost felt secondary to the level of positive change she’s experiencing across her entire life.

She’s a mom of two who also runs her own business, homeschools, cooks, cleans, manages the household, and does almost all of it from home, just like I do.

And despite her wins across the board, she was being incredibly hard on herself for not feeling motivated to exercise consistently. So I stopped her right there and told her the truth: I rarely feel motivated to workout.

Or meal prep. Or ________ [insert daily task to keep us alive and healthy].

Not because I don’t care or that I'm lazy. But because it’s a very modern human response to struggle with motivation to move when it's not embedded naturally into our lifestyle, especially when everything happens in the same physical space.

Our homes hold memories, responsibilities, and mental load. When you live, work, cook, clean, parent, and try to train all in one place, motivation alone is not a reliable strategy. It never was.

That’s why instead of shaming myself or labeling myself as undisciplined, I’ve learned to solve for it. I shared with her exactly how I have stayed consistent with training in the past without relying on motivation:

  • I committed to Green Door Life live workouts

  • I started teaching the workouts for some time to hold myself even more accountable

  • I got my kids involved and asked them to “coach” me and not let me quit

  • I looped my husband in and asked him to exercise with me, especially on the days I complain

  • I’ve done Zoom workout dates with my mom and other friends

  • And most recently, I joined a local gym so I could get my cardio done alongside other humans and still do my Green Door Life workouts during open gym time

By no means am I motivated every day to exercise, eat well, cook, or keep a clean house. But I know these things matter.

So I design my environment to support consistency instead of expecting willpower to save me. This mindset is the same one that’s allowed me to stay consistent not just with my health, but with business, finances, and life as a whole:

I don’t carry everything on my own, and I don’t expect joy or novelty in every single moment.

I’ve learned to fall in love with the mundane, the repetition, and the quiet rhythms that actually create results, rather than relying on the kind of stimulation that entertains us for 60 seconds and leaves us depleted.

Just like falling in love with the boring basics of the same few exercises that build muscle mass.

The same balanced meals that keep your blood sugar stable.

The same money management habits that grow financial freedom.

The same business strategies that keep your company growing.

And this is the exact pattern I see in the people who maintain their results long-term after working with us that has nothing to do with motivation.

It's the one clear difference between people who struggle with their weight for years and those who stay fit, strong, and energized long-term.

The difference is: how they relate to the responsibility of caring for their body (or anything else, for that matter).

People who stay healthy long-term don’t swing between being “on track” and “starting over,” and they don’t rely on intensity to compensate for inconsistency.

They operate from a different internal framework.

They see caring for their body as a non-negotiable baseline, not a project they pick up and put down.

They see their body as something to steward for the long haul, not something to fix temporarily when it becomes a problem.

They don’t wait until things feel bad enough to take action. They don’t outsource every decision to a plan, a diet, or a rigid rule set, and they don’t live in constant negotiation with food, exercise, or energy.

Instead, they build capacity... indefinitely.

They build lifelong capacity:

Capacity to eat in a way that supports their energy.
Capacity to notice when stress is driving behavior.
Capacity to adjust without spiraling.
Capacity to stay consistent even when life is full.

This is the opposite of the yo-yo cycle, the pattern so many people find themselves trapped in year after year.

The yo-yo cycle is driven by urgency instead of structure, restriction instead of regulation, motivation instead of capacity, and outsourcing decisions instead of building self-trust.

And over time, it becomes exhausting.

Not to mention, addicting. We can get so caught up in our pursuit to always be "fixing" that we never feel what it's like to simply maintain.

Awaken Foundations was created to interrupt that cycle.

Not with another plan, another set of rules, or another push to do more, but by helping you build the mindset and daily practices of someone who cares for their body as a way of life.

It's about becoming a devotional steward of your body and taking radical ownership for your health, without arguing for your limitations.

Inside Awaken Foundations, we focus on what actually creates long-term health.

We start by regulating energy before trying to change behavior, stabilizing hunger and blood sugar instead of fighting cravings, and understanding metabolism rather than ignoring it.

From there, we build simple routines that work in real life and teach you how to adjust without spiraling into self-judgment or all-or-nothing thinking.

This is where consistency actually comes from, not discipline, perfection, or willpower, but from having the capacity to follow through in the midst of real life.

Awaken Foundations is four weeks of direct coaching to help you shift from managing your body to partnering with it in a way that feels sustainable, grounded, and realistic.

There are no workouts, there is no food to track, and there is no starting over.

Just the foundations that allow healthy choices to feel natural instead of forced.

And that starts with food... the thing that quite literally becomes part of us and is responsible for 80% of our body composition, not to mention overall health and well-being.

Exercise optimization can come over time. We're going to talk about basic movement and hormone balance first, along with food.

Enrollment at the discounted rate closes tonight, January 23rd, at 11:59 pm Pacific. After that, the investment increases to $555.

Right now, you can still join Awaken Foundations for $333, saving $222.

If you are ready to step out of cycles and into something sustainable, this is your entry point.
