How Awaken Foundations changed Amanda's life

Women don’t create lasting change with willpower... it starts with belief.

We just took a big leap in our business and hired a well known ad agency to help us expand our mission of helping people feel better in their bodies… because we believe that a healthy, functioning, regulated, properly fueled body creates a better world, one person at a time.

And that starts with food.

What we eat and drink, when, how much, and why not only impact everything in our body, it becomes us.

And when you have the resources, energy, and vitality to show up in this world by balancing your meals (not just "eating whole foods"), that’s how you create true, lasting change... the kind of change that positively impacts the trajectory of health and lifespan for generations to come.

We know the power of eating in balance and proper nourishment because we’ve spent plenty of time in the opposite experience: waking up every day feeling weighed down, inflamed, stuck, purposeless, bitter, and completely depleted.

But what’s wild is we didn’t even recognize how bad we felt at the time. You really can become so accustomed to your current state that it just feels normal. You don’t even realize the possibility of feeling better.

And it doesn't take as long as you think.

So when we brought this agency on, one of the first things they asked for was simple… “Show us the transformation. Show us the proof. Show us what’s possible.”

Which meant going back. Way back.

Through thousands upon thousands of photos and videos Shannon and I have accumulated since we started working together in 2018.

And as I was combing through all of it, not just the client transformations, but my own… it hit me in a way I didn’t expect.

How far we’ve come... not just professionally, but personally. And why educating people about the life-changing power of nutrition never, ever gets old.

Because I saw myself back then.

I saw the images and videos of old me and could immediately feel the pain I was in. I remembered the beliefs I held that were so deeply ingrained and were actually keeping me stuck. My world was so small, and had been for quite some time.

I didn’t feel comfortable in my body as a new mom of two, even though I lost most of the baby weight soon after. My postpartum challenge came later. We had a one-year-old who still wasn’t sleeping for more than 30 minute stretches at a time. I was also juggling my corporate job while starting nutrition coaching, plus my husband became a firefighter, so I was solo parenting for days at a time.

Looking back, it makes complete sense how I coped the only way I knew how:

Looking back, it makes complete sense how I coped the only way I knew how:

I believed that weight loss required immense suffering.

I was doing the hardest workouts for two hours every morning, fasted, trying to “undo” the damage of the night before. Not eating all day as much as possible. Drinking nearly a bottle of wine every night, which everyone around me encouraged and said was “normal” as a parent. And then consuming about thousands of calories of food between 4pm and midnight, preparing for the battle ahead of no sleep.

I genuinely thought this was just my new reality as a mother.

That I had finally reached the place where I would no longer be able to care for myself like all the women and moms before me that I had seen.

That I was doomed to be overweight, fluffy, and uncomfortable in clothes, forever.

That even though I did everything in my power to stay healthy, including training and walking while pregnant, becoming unfit and overweight was inevitable due to age and caring for kids.

And this is the part that really stopped me as I was going through those old photos… because I remember what I believed back then.

I believed this was just how it was going to be: that I was now broken and would just continue declining.

Thankfully, that belief got turned upside down quickly and didn’t remain with me for long. Because once I learned how to actually balance my meals, I started to feel better in HOURS.

Not days. Not weeks. Not months.

Within hours of fueling properly with food, I had more energy, I felt more grounded, I could withstand toddler tantrums despite zero sleep, and I felt my capacity expand in a way I didn’t even know was possible.

And sitting there, going through all of that content for these ads, I realized something really clearly… this is the hardest thing to convey to someone new to this work:

Helping them adopt the belief that you're not broken... that your body can change and respond that quickly.

Because if you’re reading this, chances are you’ve tried.

You’ve tried the protocols, the supplements, the lab tests, the books, the trending advice from every new viral post, and either you didn’t feel better, or you couldn’t stay consistent, or the results didn’t last.

And that’s exactly the issue for so many.

It’s not that we’re not trying...

It's that we're majoring in the minors.

We're distracted by focusing on small things that don't matter much at all yet.

That's why we created Awaken Foundations to bridge that gap from information overload into implementation of what works to create results.

And what we've created is so powerful and effective that this isn't just my story or Shannon's story anymore...

This can be your story.

, a recent graduate from the 4-week program reached out to us this week to share her incredible results! Not because I asked for a testimonial or because we were prompting wins... she just wanted to share how she's still going and continuing to see change.

Amanda is an amazing, loving mom of five with a full life, the kind where your needs can easily get pushed aside.

She found us the way so many women do, through a podcast, through Instagram, quietly taking it in and trying to do the “right” things with what she had.

But instead of just consuming, she started applying what she was learning. Small shifts, simple changes, things she picked up from our content, and she began to see changes. Her body started responding, her energy started improving, and for the first time, things were actually clicking.

And somewhere along the way, she made a decision that most people don’t make. She didn’t stop there.

She leaned in.

After building that initial momentum on her own, she realized she wanted more support, more structure, and a place to continue that progress, and that’s when she joined Awaken Foundations.

Not because life suddenly got easier, but because she was ready to keep going.

This has been about a six-month journey for her, from October to now.

And what you’re seeing isn’t the result of one perfect moment; it’s the result of small, aligned actions, consistently, over time, with the right support when she needed it.

When she messaged us this week, I paused with a heart full of gratitude to have the honor of the work we do!

Yes, her body has changed, but what she shared had nothing to do with chasing a number on the scale.

She told us that she feels lighter, physically and mentally, her range of motion has increased, she’s not dealing with back pain anymore, her digestion feels more regular, and her mood has evened out.

And then she said something that I think matters more than anything else: for the first time in her life, she doesn’t feel like food controls her anymore.

She said she has found peace and comfort in nature, her family, and her community instead of food, and she never thought that would be possible for her.

That’s the part that stays with me.

Because that’s not just a physical change, that’s freedom. I feel this and relate to it deep in my bones.

What I love about her story is that she didn’t get there because she found something more advanced, she got there because she stopped waiting and started doing the basics, consistently, in a way that actually works.

Which brings me back to you

If you’re reading this and seeing yourself in any part of this story, what you’re experiencing right now isn’t random.

The low energy, the weight gain, the hormone symptoms, that feeling of being disconnected from your body, those are signals, and they’re not going to magically fix themselves.

Not because something is wrong with you, but because your body adapts, and the longer you stay in the same patterns, the more your body learns to operate there.

And this is why taking action now matters, not in a rushed or pressured way, but in a real, honest way.

Because what’s actually on the table here isn’t just weight. It’s waking up with energy instead of dread, feeling stable instead of anxious or overstimulated, having a clear mind instead of brain fog, trusting your body instead of fighting it, being present with your kids instead of feeling depleted.

When you zoom out even further, this is about the trajectory of your life, because the habits you’re in right now will compound, and we want you headed toward longevity and vitality.

Change doesn’t always take months to feel.

When you start working with your body instead of against it, things can shift quickly, sometimes within a day or two, more stable energy, fewer cravings, better sleep, a sense of calm.

Not because anything extreme is happening, but because your body is finally getting what it’s been asking for.

And sometimes the biggest shift isn’t even physical right away, it’s relief, clarity, hope, that feeling of “this might actually work for me,” and that alone can change everything.

From there, things build faster than most people expect, not perfectly, but consistently. And this is where most women go back into the loop: I’ll start Monday, I just need more time, I know what to do, I’m just not doing it, and then months pass, sometimes years.

But the opposite is also true: a small decision in the right direction right now can change the entire trajectory of your health, not because it’s dramatic, but because it’s aligned.

There’s something incredibly powerful about deciding that you’re not doing this alone anymore.

That moment of stepping into support, of saying yes, of giving yourself structure, creates a shift immediately, because now you have direction, you have clarity, you have something to follow, and that’s where momentum begins.

And this is why this work matters so much, because it’s not just about food or workouts or routines, it’s about how you live your life.

How you wake up, how you eat, how you move, how you think, and when those things start to shift, even in small ways, it ripples into everything, your relationships, your parenting, your work, your confidence.

If something in you is recognizing yourself in this, that’s not by accident.

You don’t need more time, and you don’t need to save more viral posts, you need a different way of doing this in real life.

And the women who change their lives aren’t the ones who waited until everything was perfect... they’re the ones who decided to start, even when life was full.
