We talk a lot about data, science, and sustainable practices. But what does it feel like to live that journey from the inside?
Our longtime client
We’re honored to share her story below. May they inspire you as much as they inspired us: ✨
When I first started with The Green Door Life, I was terrified of the camera and the scale. When you haven’t really looked at your body in years, taking full-body photos can be extremely difficult. Crushing, even.
But I reluctantly agreed. I was fortunate to have a partner who was incredibly supportive every step of the way. He was my rock.
Over time, we became consistent with our photo and measurement routine. Sure, there were weeks we skipped due to vacations, menstrual cycles, holidays, and just life but that was okay.
As I continued to gather more data, something unexpected happened:
I realized I was building a timeline.
A dataset.
A living record of proof I could use not only to push myself, but to inspire others.
The thing I dreaded the most actually became the evidence my brain needed to keep going.
I had confirmation that what I was doing with The Green Door Life, day in and day out, was really working.
So, I kept going.
On the days when I felt bloated, ate too much sugar, missed my steps, or looked in the mirror and didn’t recognize myself... when the old stories crept in and I wanted to judge myself and give up...
I’d open the graphs or pull up a side-by-side photo. The science was right in front of me.
It’s really hard to keep beating yourself up when you see how much you’ve visibly changed.
In a world obsessed with instant gratification, we must remember what delayed gratification gives us.
Instant gratification can feel good in the moment, but it often derails our long-term goals.
Delayed gratification requires self-control, patience, and trust.
And it leads to true, lasting satisfaction.

When I look at my photos now, I don’t feel judgment or shame.
I feel pride. And wonder.
I wonder what else is possible.
I wonder who might see my photos and finally believe that success doesn’t come from pills, crash diets, fads, or “30-day resets.”
It comes from consistent, science-based practices and visual feedback that keeps you grounded in reality.
When it comes to body weight, nothing about this journey is linear as you'll see in the following image.
The chart fluctuates—up, down, plateau, spike… just like life. It reflects the full story, and I’m grateful for that.
It's been over a year and a half, and I’ve stayed consistent with photos. They’re my most powerful feedback tool now.
These days, my photos are helping me move through a phase of the journey I didn’t expect during my first 12 weeks or even months after:
Rebuilding my identity.
I did something incredible—something most people would never attempt. I still cringe a little when I say positive things about myself. But I want to feel confident saying them. I deserve to say them. That’s the next layer of growth I’m focused on now.

I want to write and share more. I want to talk about where I’ve been and where I’m going. I want to express how I feel in my body. How my true self is finally able to take up space.
Not just as Kelly the mother, the wife, the daughter…
But Kelly.
Unapologetically, Kelly.
She’s ready.
If you’re reading this, I hope you find inspiration in my words.
I hope you find beauty in delayed gratification.
And I hope you give yourself the gift of progress... not perfection.
Thank you for reading. 💚
