"OK, but how do I cook my favorite recipes without blowing my macros?"
- every client, ever.
We love this question because our answer is simple and it's the same every time:
take your favorite recipe and tweak it!
For example, do you love spaghetti and meatballs but don't love the 40+ grams of carbs that it tacks onto your meal? Try a smaller serving size of spaghetti, add in zucchini noodles to increase volume and sneak in a veggie, and use ground bison instead of ground beef for meatballs. The difference in macros and calories is significant:
And this is exactly why we teach the fundamentals of nutrition science, so you can find out what's really in your food instead of blindly following the latest fad diet or cutting out an entire food group.
So, what's your favorite recipe? Think of your favorite comfort foods and holiday treats... how can you give them an upgrade? Hit reply to this email and let us know what you've come up with, or if you want help brainstorming how to make it work FOR you!
And in case you missed this on our Instagram page, we're still gushing over here about this beautiful bride, Marissa McFadden:
Wanting to look and feel her best on her wedding day, Marissa came to us like many people do: with a super motivating short-term goal. And achieve that she did! Just WOW. Truly glowing from the inside out! But what she discovered during her program extended far deeper than any one day event. Marissa’s mindset shifted toward long-term goals, focusing on nourishment, balance, and increasing strength. Marissa was an absolute dream to work with: quick learner, eager to trying something new, and open to sharing challenges encountered along the way. Having a coach in your corner to hold the space during life’s ups and downs beyond just nutrition support is why our clients experience so much success. Our ultimate goal is that by the end of 12 weeks, our members understand how to nourish and move their unique body for their specific goals, both short term and long term, for the rest of their lives. Although they don’t “need" us after the program is complete, the relationships built in the process last for a lifetime... like friends with (life balance) benefits. Is that a thing? We think it is now! Thank you for choosing us, Marissa!
Love and health,
Shannon & Lisa
