I just recorded what might be the clearest, most grounded conversation I’ve ever had about fat loss, metabolic science, and what nutritional strategies actually works for modern humans living modern lives.
The conversation took place on Wildly Capable, a podcast hosted by my incredible client
Liz recently wrapped up one-on-one coaching with me and not only lost 15 pounds in 12 weeks, she’s still losing weight even after being more flexible with her diet and not tracking through the holidays.
This means EVERYTHING to me.
Because it reflects the heart of my work and the mission behind every client I coach:
I don’t want results that last a few weeks; I want this to be sustainable for LIFE.
And that kind of transformation doesn’t come from education alone.
It comes from real-life application, especially for busy mothers, caregivers, and working women who are already carrying a full mental load.
Information alone doesn’t create change. We have to uncover the less obvious blocks that keep people stuck and inconsistent.
Sometimes that means looking at an unsustainable workload that needs to be delegated.
Sometimes it means addressing unmet physical or emotional needs.
Sometimes it requires restructuring your business or work schedule, unapologetically.
Sometimes it means having honest conversations with spouses, children, and families to set new boundaries and create new traditions.
Liz invited me onto the show to break down the exact framework we used together, the same one that helped her cut through the noise of conflicting online advice and step into real, consistent results.

Here's what we covered (plus scroll down for an exclusive offer!):

“But I eat whole foods, why isn’t this working?”
“Do I really have to track forever?”
“Why do I feel like I’m doing everything right and still stuck?”
“How do I lose fat without wrecking my hormones or my sanity?”
This episode is for you.
Whole foods matter, a lot. They support inflammation, satiety, and blood sugar stability.
But if our movement looks nothing like our ancestors, and most of us are living in a world of 4,000 steps per day and a chair-based lifestyle, “real food” alone doesn’t automatically create fat loss.
The missing piece is understanding energy balance, in a sane, compassionate way, not in a 1990s diet culture way.
And it's basically free medicine.
One of the biggest takeaways from this conversation is that walking is irreplaceable.
Not “harder cardio,” not “more sweat,” not “punish your body into compliance.”
Walking supports:
cortisol regulation
body fat metabolism
blood sugar clearance
mood stability
cognition and memory
nervous system regulation
It’s the kind of movement that gives you more energy without stressing you out, which is a rare unicorn in the fitness world.
Most people try to hit macros or just calories by the end of the day, and then wonder why they’re hungry, snacky, cranky, or spiraling at night.
I teach a different approach, build each meal to keep you full and stable for 3–4 hours.
When you do that, hunger stops feeling like an emergency, and starts feeling like a calm signal that it’s time to refuel.
So high carb + high fat is where many people get stuck.
This was Liz’s biggest aha, and honestly, it’s one of the most important points in modern nutrition.
Carbs are fuel.
Fat is fuel.
If we stack both high in the same meal, again and again, we’re flooding the system with energy, even if it’s “clean,” “ancestral,” or organic.
That’s why someone can eat sourdough, butter, raw dairy, and all the best ingredients on earth, and still not see fat loss if the total fuel load stays too high for their current output.
That's also why I created Awaken Foundations... it's essentially the Pro-Metabolic Weight Gain Recovery program.
Protein is building material, not gasoline.
I use it to send safety signals to the body, support lean tissue, stabilize appetite, and keep your metabolism resilient.
And because we can’t store amino acids beyond about a day, protein consistency matters.
We also talked about meal spacing, not as a trendy label, but as normal human physiology.
When you protect a true break between meals and overnight, your body gets a chance to move through the “energy buckets,” and actually access stored body fat between meals.
This is also why “a little cream in your coffee,” or “a splash of milk in your tea,” can quietly slow results for some people, it’s not moral, it’s just biology.
If this conversation sounds like the clarity you’ve been craving…
